  1. The ants were collected from the Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) site in Gwangneung forest, mid-western Korea. Abundance (number of individuals per trap) is provided by mean with SE. Different letters following values denote significant difference between groups in the Mann-Whitney U test. Change in abundance was determined by the difference between 2003 and 2004 or 2003 and 2005. Guilds were defined as follows: FGF, forest ground forager; SLD, soil and litter dweller; OF, open-land forager; FVF, forest vegetation forager. Definition of the guilds is shown in the text.
