  1. RIC = (1 − P) × B/mod(B), where P is the significance value for each regression coefficient B, and mod represents the modulus of the B value as estimated by multiple linear regression coefficients relating to peritrich species abundance (standardized (ln + 1) values) with seasons and water quality parameters (significant values are italicized, P < 0.05). Data obtained between June 2010 and June 2011 for Guaíba Lake, southern Brazil. Species are presented in the same order as in the cluster analysis (Figure 5). t test compares species from clusters 1 and 2.
